The best KickAssAnime alternative in 2026
KickAssAnime, or KAA, is still running, now at kaa.lt. It has moved its main domain several times, and its own channel warns about fake copies.

The short answer
KickAssAnime still works at kaa.lt, but it has changed main domains several times, kaa.to was placed under court suspension in October 2025, and the site itself warns about a phishing copy. If you want a backup that stays at one address, Rotten Brains is free and needs no account.
What's going on with KickAssAnime?
KickAssAnime is a large sub and dub anime site. On 22 March 2023 it announced on X that it had switched to a new domain while preparing "KAA V3", and in June 2023 it added proxy domains for people whose internet provider blocked the main one.
In February 2024 TorrentFreak reported that Cloudflare had flagged KAA's domains for "suspected phishing". The operator suspected mass abuse reports and pointed users to kaa.mx, and said the site was ad-free. TorrentFreak described it as one of the larger anime pirate sites, with hundreds of millions of visits a year. In June 2024 kickassanime.mx, with 55 million visits over three months, appeared in a round of ACE DMCA subpoenas aimed at Cloudflare and the .to registry.
FMHY starred it at kickassanime.mx in August 2024, then moved the link to kaa.mx on 5 February 2025 and to kaa.to on 22 July 2025. On 17 October 2025 the site's own Telegram channel said kaa.to was under court suspension and might be taken down, and pointed people to kickassanime.cx.
On 6 February 2026 the same channel named kaa.lt as the main site, kaa.si, kaa.to and kaa.rs as active, and kickassanime.cx as the backup. It told users not to use kickassanime.mx or kaa.mx, and warned that kickassanime.com.es is a phishing and scam site. FMHY switched to kaa.lt on 25 May 2026. On 23 September 2026 kaa.lt loaded, while the kickassanime.cx backup returned a Cloudflare error.

A look around Rotten Brains
Real screenshots from the site, in the order that matters most to someone coming from KickAssAnime.
01
Subtitles in dozens of languages
Subtitles come from more than one source, so most titles have several versions per language. If the first one is out of sync with the video, the next one usually is not.
Many get lined up with the dialogue automatically when you pick them, and there is a delay slider for the rest.
02
Pick up where you left off
With a free account, every movie and episode remembers the second you stopped, on every device. Continue Watching sits at the top of the home page, next to what is new in the shows you follow.
You never need the account to watch. It only adds the memory.

Every season and episode, with Up Next
Shows open on a watch page with every season beside the player. The episode you are on is marked, and Up Next sits right above the list, so finishing an episode is one tap from the next.
Anime is here too, with sub and dub where both exist.
04
The player finds a working source by itself
Every title is checked against several sources before you press play, and the player starts on the one that answers first.
If a source stalls, the player tries the next one and picks up where you were. You can still pick one yourself from the settings menu, with a note on which ones carry extra audio languages or subtitles.
05
Watch parties with friends anywhere
Start a party from any movie or episode and send the link. Everyone who opens it watches the same second of the same video, with a chat alongside, and the player keeps them in sync.
Any free account can start one. Friends can join and watch without an account at all.
06
Built for your phone too
The site works the same on a phone as on a laptop: the player pins to the top, the episode list scrolls underneath, and the controls are sized for thumbs.
Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen, like an app, with no store and no install.

Questions
What is the real KickAssAnime site?
The site's own Telegram channel, in February 2026, named kaa.lt as the main address, with kaa.si, kaa.to and kaa.rs as active and kickassanime.cx as a backup. It said not to use kickassanime.mx or kaa.mx, and called kickassanime.com.es a phishing and scam site.
What happened to kaa.to?
In October 2025 the official channel said kaa.to was under court suspension and could be taken down. The main site has since moved to kaa.lt, which is the link FMHY lists.
Does Rotten Brains have both sub and dub?
Yes, where both exist. Every season and episode is listed, and Up Next takes you to the next episode when one ends.
