What happened to PrimeWire?

PrimeWire is one of the oldest names in free streaming. It began as LetMeWatchThis, became 1Channel, and in June 2013 reappeared as PrimeWire.ag after going down without explanation. A month earlier 1channel.ch had been hacked and pointed at a near-identical fake. Users submitted links to films and episodes hosted on other sites, and by late 2021 it had about 20 million US visits a month.

In December 2021 Paramount, Universal, Warner, Columbia, Disney and Netflix sued it in California. A January 2022 injunction froze primewire.li, primewire.ag and primewire.vc. PrimeWire moved to primewire.tf and removed its pirate links, and its traffic fell by more than 60%.

On 21 April 2022 the court ordered PrimeWire shut down and its domains handed to the studios. A July 2022 comeback as HydraWire was quickly shut down, and in December 2022 the court awarded $20.7 million in damages against operators who never appeared.

In April 2023 TorrentFreak found it running again on primewire.tf, linking to outside hosts, with US traffic under 1 million visits a month. On 23 September 2026 primewire.tf pointed to an information page instead of a streaming site, FMHY listed primewire.mov, primewire.zip and primewire.pw, and many other PrimeWire-branded domains existed.

Every title is checked against several sources before you press play, and the player starts on the one that answers first.

If a source stalls, the player tries the next one and picks up where you were. You can still pick one yourself from the settings menu, with a note on which ones carry extra audio languages or subtitles.

Many get lined up with the dialogue automatically when you pick them, and there is a delay slider for the rest.
